Fun and interesting
Love this reboot of reply-all. So interesting and fun. I learn something every time.
Curiosity and humor
This terrific show features one of my favorite podcasters, PJ Vogt from the old Reply All podcast. In this show PJ takes the reins and dives into question I’ve certainly had, and many I’d never though of but are fascinated to learn about. His typical humor, charm and curiosity are central to why this show works so well.
Always look forward to this podcast
Right now, it’s the only podcast I look forward to dropping each week.
Great Series
I love the variety of show topics and the host and am always excited when a new episode drops! I think PJ is in top form!
I recommend!
Interesting, personal, and enjoyable.
Stumbled on but now hooked
This is a voice to text review, so it may or may not make sense once published. I was listening to 20,000 Hz, one of my favorite podcasts and somehow this one got up in the mix. However, now that I’ve start listening to Search Engine my life has improved dramatically. I am now the most interesting man in the room. I have greater self-confidence. I’ve learned a lot about the world, including methamphetamines, fentanyl, and stranger things. Thanks to PJ Vaught for putting the show together. Shout out to my dog Milo. You’re the best.
Thought provoking
I love this type of journalism!
Really good
PJ has found a great method to pursue a fascinating variety of topics in this podcast. By addressing questions he finds interesting the show is not restricted by a theme or a mission other than his curiosity and what will produce a good story. So far I’ve found the show terrifically entertaining. And if one show’s topic leaves you cold, the next one is likely to be a winner. Give the show a whirl. If you liked his work on Reply All, there is a good chance you’ll like this show too.
Finally!
So glad to find this show. I loved Reply All and have definitely missed PJ and his awesome story telling.
Jus’ Lil Tidbits of Life and Culture
This is favorite genre of of podcast: the investigative, research story of various stuffs. Search Engine is very well made and stories well told. Good to get PJ back to this kind of work. It’s very good! Keep up the good work!
Exceeding beyond Reply All
There is a episode of Reply All that I always go back to; 30-50 Feral Hogs. A beautifully made break from RA’s normal content. A hard left turn investigating the history and complexities of the Feral Hog Epidemic in America. Search Engine took that surprising hard left turn and made it the intended path. Rather than keep the podcast within the confines of tech/internet culture, PJ has expanded the scope of Search Engine to uncovering the mysteries, enigmas, and stories of daily current existence. It shows PJ’s curiosity and hyper fixation goes well beyond tech, and his ability to uncover the hidden stories and truths transcends genre.
PJ & Sruthy the Dream Team
Thank you for an amazing new podcast. Keep up the good work!
Fun listen
This podcast addresses interesting questions through thoughtful and thorough research. Many of these questions I didn’t even know I had until the show runners posed them for me.
It’s like Stuff You Should Know, but better!
It’s Stuff You Should Know without all of the side conversations and going off topic. I’ve really been enjoying this podcast!
Really Enjoy - well researched
This podcast really develops its topics thoughtfully and well.
Doesn’t disappoint
I loved PJ on Reply All and has been seeking something to fill the void ever since the show was cancelled. This is it. Instant favorite.
Great podcast great content
Love this podcast such great content and the way the episodes are put together is amazing. Great story telling and excellent reporting.
Reply All meets Throughline
This show is a series of well researched, thoughtful, and humanizing conversations. I love the breadth of topics, and depth of analysis given to each one while never pretending to have a final answer. This has quickly become a show I listen to every week. Thanks to the team!
PJ Vogt is the best
I loved his work (with Sruthi P) on Reply All. Now this new show keeps up the amazing quality while vastly broadening the scope of topics.
Loved Reply All, Love This
I was so sad when Reply All stopped, but I am thrilled to have found this! Absolutely LOVE this podcast.
Simply a great podcast
Interesting, thoughtful, well executed. Highly recommend.
Hands down favorite podcast!
I’m a sorta podcast junkies and listen to shows of all types but this is by far the podcast I look forward to the most..it’s smart, funny, educational, entertaining, informative, and takes a look at important questions without taking itself too seriously. Also, PJ’s laugh…the best!
A Favorite
Used to love Reply All, hands down my favorite - now so happy to have Search Engine. Always interesting topics, great research and conversations. I always listen to it as soon as it comes out. As a side note - that spooky guest show episode last week was a huge disappointment.
I Heart PJ Vogt
Reply All was my favorite podcast. Search Engine tells similarly interesting and kind-of weird stories, but also feels a little more thoughtful and grown up. I am thrilled every-time I see an episode in my feed.
This show is such a gem
Ever since parts 1 and 2 of the crime machine, episodes of PJ’s previous podcast, Reply All, that detailed the surprising history of stop and frisk/broken windows policing, PJ has been my absolute favorite and most trusted investigative journalist. He approaches every topic he takes on with detail, nuance, and humor, all while making it completely comprehensible to someone coming in with no context or history on the matter. Even when covering subjects that I think I have little to no interest on, like cryptocurrency, PJ and the team make every story an enjoyable, relevant, and insightful ride. Highly recommend!!
Fascinating subjects, great execution
Fascinating subjects, great execution
Top 3
This is in my all time favorites! Keep it up PJ! -from a farmer in MT
PJ Vogt makes the best podcast
So so glad to have you back in my ear. Just listened to part 1 of the ADHD podcast and I’ve never felt more seen. You articulated so many thoughts and feelings I’ve had that I’ve never been able to describe. “The nervous system of someone that’s been sitting in highway traffic jam”. That hit home. Excited for part 2.
Gimme More
I loooove Search Engine!! I almost wish I’d found it years from now when it had multiple seasons I could binge. Instead I happily suffer through the slow and reasonable drip of being in love with a show that’s currently in production and airing weekly. Please keep making episodes and happy searching 🖤
Whoa!
This is the podcast that you didn’t know you NEED! As a fan of PJ’s from his previous podcast (Reply All), I’ve been quietly listening to Search Engine the last few months. I’m ready to declare that Search Engine is one of my very favorite podcasts that I devour as each episode hits the feed. Today’s episode on taking stimulants for ADHD, hit the bull’s eye for me so hard that it motivated me to write this review (even though I’m also no longer on these drugs!). It feels like he’s diving into my mind for all the unanswered questions that I didn’t know I needed answered.
